eyeOS – another webOS company

Posted by rexdixon on November 27, 2006

eyeOSeyeOS, is a company that TechCrunch is reporting on this afternoon. It appears that the buzz word for 2007 will be – WebOS, GoogleOS, anyOS that runs on your desktop freely.

Technically Speaking, I am now wondering how many companies will be formed, VC funded, and survive through 2007 doing WebOS? We all know what happens when Google releases GoogleOS right? Everyone will be swallowed alive in one big gulp. Better get to 7-11 now to pick one of those up! 🙂

Digg, Digg, Digg that hole deeper…

Posted by rexdixon on November 27, 2006

Here is a nice breakdown on why Digg gets the numbers wrong. Hey.. it’s all about stats, and stats pretty much are very shady these days. Well at least Kevin $60 million manRose doesn’t think so.

Technically Speaking, I would love to do a diggnation 2. Hey if it made Kevin all that green, why not Rex Dixon? I can see it coming…. Mr. Business Golf in Addison, Rex Dixon in St. Louis.. yucking it up on video.

SPAM?

Posted by rexdixon on November 27, 2006

Getting allot of SPAM these days? It could be these British gangs. At least gmail as well as yahoo catches a majority of it for me personally! Also see this related article on CNN Tech this morning about 9 out of 10 e-mails being SPAM. I saw that one way early today, but figured everyone has been hit hard with SPAM these days. Then I received an e-mail from my bud in Addison, TX about SPAM…

So… Technically Speaking, at least these gangs aren’t killing each other in the streets!

OZ mobile IM officially raises $34 million

Posted by rexdixon on November 27, 2006

OZ, a mobile IM service provider, official second round comes in at $34 Million. GigaOm had reported on this site back in September, but didn’t have the official numbers until today. It looks like the mobile IM industry is going to be booming in the next several years.

Technically Speaking, I have yet to find a service that makes doing IM, surfing, or any data things only NOT painfully slow and aggravating.

TuitionCoach launches tomorrow

Posted by rexdixon on November 27, 2006

TuitionCoach, who received $250,000 of angel funding last December is officially launching tomorrow. This is a site to help guide families about college tuition. Technically Speaking, this is a great idea, and I wish this site the best in their future post launch.

MORE Second Life garbage, T-Shirts Evil?

Posted by rexdixon on November 27, 2006

In a rush at this point, so having to combine two into one at this point.

Second Life. I think I have hammered it quite well here already. They (the game) doesn’t have to wait for bad press – because if you search here on this blog, you’ll find plenty of it. Oh and don’t forget the podcast – Coffee #5!

2 T-Shirts = good? 3 = Evil? Okay.. whatever you say Billionaire Sergey Brin! But hey, since you are giving T-Shirts away, how about loading up on my merchandise to give away? I have 2 different T-Shirts and a corporate Golf/Polo shirt as well as a coffee mug! Give those away, 2, 3, 4 of them at a time. There is nothing “evil” about Technically Speaking merchandise; Technically Speaking at least. More later on today, read and inform yourself – there is plenty here to catch up for now!

More on Laptops

Posted by rexdixon on November 27, 2006

If you saw my posts recently, like this morning recent, you know that I would like a 2nd laptop to get away from the chains of a desktop. Here are some videos now that show why a laptop is better, or more like why you need one!

Gickr

Posted by rexdixon on November 27, 2006

Gickr.com, is a place to create animated GIF’s for free. Looks like they are trying to be some sort of add on for Flickr, but that’s cool. Animated GIF’s can be cool sometimes.

More Garbage – Second Life

Posted by rexdixon on November 27, 2006

I can’t believe that Business Week would even post such an article. Second Life is a freakin’ GAME! Get over it. Now the other cover, that is way cool – Mr. Stylin’Kevin Rose.

Technically Speaking, Kevin made his money the old fashioned way, he schmoozed with the VC’s. Also being in the right place at the right time helps too! Second Life is about pulling the wool over people’s brains.
