FOX says linking violates Copyright Law?

Posted by rexdixon on December 1, 2006

Fox is now sending out letters to people who link to YouTube videos. They are contending that linking to the video somehow violates copyright law. Now Technically Speaking, as long as you link to something, you are basically GIVING CREDIT to the original source! If we can’t link, then guess what — bye, bye BLOGS!

  1. I don’t know, maybe it should be against the law to link to another video of Britney Spears ‘No Panties’ Video…:)

The idea is pretty ridiculous but sites like sideload.com take advantage of this idea of linking to copyrighted material to distribute mp3s. I don’t think that’s wrong but it is an example of abuse vis-a-vie copyright law.
