Technically Speaking

Wesabe

wesabe logoWesabe launched today. I would say very quietly. I have a feeling that it may become a quiet hit. This is an example of what I am seeing as the new social networking groups that are starting up out there. Think of this as 4th generation social networking. There wasn’t a single reference online anywhere that I saw today. The only one was this lone quiet posting at this hour of the evening.

So what is it? It is a community of people (social network) that share their experiences with money. The community is there to help others make better financial decisions. I am guessing some of the people at Sequoia Capital and a few of the other VC’s wished they would have stopped for a second before investing in that company, you know, where they are about to lose it all in a lawsuit.

The company is founded by O’Reilly Entrepreneur in Residence Marc Hedlund. Technically Speaking, I see gradual growth for this company, probably as quietly as they were launched today.

  1. Hey, Rex,

Thanks much for checking it out, and I’m glad it looks good to you. We definitely wanted to launch quietly in order to make sure we get the service right for the early users. We’ve had a fantastic early response, and I’m hopeful it will continue to go well. Thanks again and best wishes.
