Google landmark, Costumzee, Netflix, MovieTally

Google just bought the garage where it all started for them. I guess you could say it’s another Silicon Valley landmark; the same as HP’s 1938 garage, and Apple’s 1970’s garage.

Costumzee is a site that just relaunched over the summer with all the web 2.0 trimmings over the summer. Looks like it received a nice write up today on Search Engine Watch. Halloween is right around the corner, and if you are looking for a costume, you may want to give it a go.

Netflix is apparantly holding a $1 million contest or should I say is offering a $1 million prize to someone that can help improve their recommendation engine. This was originally reported in the New York Times.

The article goes on to talk about Netflix should be looking at MovieTally a tag-based recommendation site built by a 15 year old New York built by Hayden. Just wondering out loud now, I wonder how many millions this 15 year old will have very soon; you know Technically Speaking that is!
