Sunday night after a long holiday weekend. Many of you are not able to hang with Rex Dixon, and that is totally understandable. Rarely does Rex Dixon’s better half make it to the wee hours of the night and early morning, and then awaken at the crack of dawn. I was blessed with the adrenalin gland from hell okay? Or maybe it’s the amount of caffeine I intake daily. Doubt that, as I have cut way back from my younger days!
I digress - this was suppose to be short and sweet — so, without further delay:

Interesting concept here. Receive your content online, publish it offline. I like the idea, and it sounds like something that I have heard being developed. Technically Speaking, time for me to let the feeds reset and update for awhile!

That is the question I propose to you readers. I know that some of you start up companies cruise past my podcasts and blogs daily, religiously as a matter of fact. The valley (SV) and San Francisco is currently a hot bed of activity as millions are being dropped, daily.
Here is your chance. Free ad time, as you see I have updated my advertise link above now and my rates are posted in black in white. If you are reading this late Sunday or early Monday morning in the coffee shop on your laptop, leave a comment. Tell Rex Dixon as well as the rest of the readers about your company.
Technically Speaking, as Leah received a free laptop last week, Rex Dixon actually has been thinking tonight and would also like a second laptop so that I can get off the chains of this desktop. You know, one of those “giving holidays” is coming up soon, so give, give generously so that Rex Dixon can be more productive in 2007.

Well it looks like this will go down as another digg problem. The problem with digg is that stories sometimes are just not true. As I posted the 256gb story late last night, I was wondering what the heck kind of technology this Indian had come up with. Put it out there for some startup company to run with.
Apparently, the story now is being debunked as another piece of digg garbage. Technically Speaking, the only thing that is real about digg is that Kevin Rose has made millions on it.

CyberNations, is a game. Okay, let me state that clearly for you Second Life players and participants that spend millions of real money there - it’s a GAME! Looks like a fun one though. Technically Speaking, these are the kind of games that Rex Dixon likes to play.

Break.com announced that they are paying $400 for user generated content. Also, they will addtionally pay up to $2000 for animated shorts. No details on how to get the money, or if there are any rules. The article goes on to state that the site has actually paid out $300,000!
Technically Speaking, if Break.com (my contact info is in one of my podcasts) would like to provide Rex Dixon with a nice video camera - I will submit a quality user generated video daily. Don’t believe me? I do a podcast 4 nights a week, and blog daily. Pay me, and I’m there.

This picture below are some great shot glasses. I would actually love for someone to send me that set! Now do you think that digg is knocked down for artistic value, or do you think it is a slight towards the companies recent admission of their less then honest ranking system? Read the article basically about what we do and that is provide social media content, and quit salivating over having a set of those shot glasses!

MyWaves, is a video to phone, phone to video, phone video to web site - web site! Whew. That was allot to try to get across there. It’s basically, according to this, not quite ready for primetime, but it does have $6 Million in series A funding from Menlo Ventures. They have 16 employees, and I think that Rex Dixon may have had a conversation with them early or mid summer about a possible job opportunity.
Technically Speaking, this is not ready yet, but figured if you want to give it a shot have a blast. The opening page video is kind of funny.

This article brings up a very interesting point. If you are a lawyer, I hope you a reading this on Monday morning, and maybe thinking of some class action lawsuit action Monday afternoon. Maybe you are a BIG Rex Dixon lawyer fan, and reading on Sunday night and beat your counter parts to the lawsuit table by 9am Monday morning.
Whatever the case may be, I have to agree with the article on allot of points. Google’s founders are billionaires, and the content they have posted as “Google News” is really just feeds of OTHER real news organizations. Ones with reporters that have gone out and done the research. The point is back in sentence 2 above, they are billionaires who have made a majority of their money by making Google a household name or more like they say in the article, they have turned Google into a verb. This is much like what Hoover did many years ago.
I always play the devils advocate though. Technically Speaking, it’s no better then what Rex Dixon does. The difference - Google has made their money on the the stock market, expanding business and technologies, and are by all rights billionaires. Rex Dixon hasn’t made a dime at this, spends allot of hours on it, and is broke!

FeedCycle, is a way for RSS to distribute in an orderly fashion. Do I think there is a need for this? No. I use RSS to get the latest and newest news on whatever feed I subscribe too. Read their description of what serialised or cyclic feed is. Read a more in depth spin on this.
Technically Speaking, I can’t see the vision or the reason of why to use this, but others might.
