Mr. Business Golf and Rex Dixon discussed this as our main topic of discussion. Wesabe CBS News!

Posted by rexdixon on November 22, 2006

Well I think I was nearly one of the first blogs to talk about wesabe logoWesabe last Friday. Everyone has talked about the site since, more indepth then my quick hit style of course. I was just checking out and responding to some of my comments that readers left me, and I had one from someone named “Melissa” on the Wesabe post above.

Turns out that she quoted me in her blog, which is on the CBS News site. Now the main part of the article is about the whole Michael Richards freak out the other day, but yes – Rex Dixon is quoted, and I will have to say, sometimes I do write some good quotable material.

Technically Speaking, thanks again Melissa and you can quote Rex Dixon anytime you feel that I will enhance your articles on CBS News!

That MySpace Scam

Posted by rexdixon on November 22, 2006

It’s being reported on CNET today as the scam that all of us have heard about already. This is the one that is mainly attributed to MySpace; stealing of accounts and passwords. Back in the day, that was called being “owned”. Now with social networks as abudent and flourishing everywhere, it’s probably a good thing to post here to remind everyone of the scam.

Dubbed a reverse cross-site request, or RCSR, vulnerability by its discoverer, Robert Chapin, the flaw lets hackers compromise users’ passwords and usernames by presenting them with a fake login form. Firefox Password Manager will automatically enter any saved passwords and usernames into the form.

Technically Speaking, I also saw something on digg where some guy ended up posting a bunch of accounts and passwords for MySpace. I have said it before and I’ll say it again, MySpace needs to really beef up their server group.

Microsoft is NOT afraid of Google

Posted by rexdixon on November 22, 2006

Microsoft is not afraid. Google is taking on all challengers.

Microsoft may not be afraid, but they are being sued by Alcatel! Google – buying, stocks going up, merging, acquiring, etc… The bet looks good for Google right now – but just remember, Big Daddy Bill has been around the block a few times. Age and experience usually tends to somehow always humble “new and innovating”.

Technically Speaking, don’t ask, I have to run out the studio door now!

CBS enjoying YouTube

Posted by rexdixon on November 22, 2006

youtubeI did forget that while FOX and MySpace teamed up, there was CBS and YouTube. Both networks are doing it right. They are teaming with a place where they will have the most viewers. Either site, well as far as social networking goes, has a ton of traffic.

Technically Speaking, Rex Dixon hasn’t really watched much TV lately, and that is probably good!

Google post $500 day

Posted by rexdixon on November 22, 2006

Google 600Google closed yesterday at $509.65 up $14.60 and it keeps going as it appears to have reached $510.02 in after hours trading. Life at Google must be good about now. I will have to say unless a huge catastrophe happens upon Google, I foresee $600 and beyond. I say they go for break, buy Yahoo as I stated the other day (or merge, whatever is the more comfortable term) and plow on ahead to $750 – $1000 per share.

Technically Speaking, yup, Technically Speaking!

GoogleOS

Posted by rexdixon on November 22, 2006

GoogleOS. What would it be like? My bet is that it’s going to be much like YouOS. I wanted to read a bit about the whole GoogleOS rumor, as it seems allot of people are just on their free time discussing it.

I think I may be checking out YouOS alpha logoYouOS. It seems pretty straight forward, and like I have said many times in the past, if it works I proceed ahead, and the minute it’s broke somewhere along my journey, don’t be surprised if I just dead stop on you. Technically Speaking that is!
