Still all over the place this weekend. This one compares Brad Garlinghouse, the SVP at Yahoo that put out the mother of all memo’s to Jerry Maguire. If that is their guess, then my best guess is that he will be fired on Monday, before lunch. Other places are all still the buzz about Yahoo’s memo that predicts all sorts of doom and gloom as in job cuts. I do however think the reference to a “thin layer of peanut butter” is like, well, dude needs to learn better sayings to put down – Rex Dixon has a ton of them better then that!
Technically Speaking, we needed something to write about this weekend, right?

Spokeo, is a new twist on social networking. It’s a Web 2.0 spin on things, and I think it’s going to be a big hit. You can import your other social networking sites in there, RSS feeds, You Tube accounts, Flikr, etc… It’s a one stop shop of social networking.
The nice thing – it works! Yes, I will look at, review, evaluate any and every site that is asking me to do so. One thing though, it better freakin’ be in working order. I won’t lie to my readers nor myself. If there is nothing more that I hate is reviewing a site that is not quite up to speed. What speed is that? Rex Dixon speed – 24/7/365 live on every continent on this planet earth that has an internet connection.
Techically Speaking, for my first time there, I will give this new site – Spokeo - 2 thumbs up. Keep up the good work, and again — when you get that VC money, and I see millions coming your way in 2007 — do not forget about your Word Wide Live pal - Rex Dixon!

Snap, is just another reason that I will have to move off the free wordpress blogging platform and take the wordpress to a domain very soon. I think this is a really cool way to search for sites. I will have to agree, this is a very nice way to search for specific web sites and preview it before you go there.
I just typed in my one domain which I have had since 2001, where I post personal stuff unrelated to tech, and one of the sites that popped up – well let’s just say to keep this blog open for everyone and all ages – I can’t even mention what that site was doing!
The bad thing about the free version of wordpress, is any cool script stuff – you can’t install here on the free blog. Technically Speaking, that has Rex Dixon leaning towards his own domain running wordpress.

This is not just another plug using a term that relates to more like a game that is popular in golf called a golf scramble. It appears from this memo as well as this article that Yahoo may possibly on be on the brink of some sort of company disaster of sorts. This will of course come into play over the course of 2007, but maybe soon the monster known as Google may just be like Ma Bell was years ago, a gigantic out of control monopoly!
Who knows, right? I do know this though – funny things happen on the internet, and that is why I am liking covering this new generation of Web 2.0. Now Technically Speaking this is a true plug for our new swag/shirts!

It appears that over in Europe they mean what they say and back it up. It is quite apparent that possibly Adobe will force Microsoft to comply over in Europe at least before Vista is unleashed.
