Google has now put a stop to it’s biggest competitor to their spreadsheet. The two founders of iRows are now working for Google. iRows web site will now be shutting down very soon as part of the deal, the founders will retain their intellectual property in iRows. The main source came from this Hebrew Blog.
Technically Speaking, Google has learned the lessons of their fathers very well, wouldn’t you say that they play the game well, Bill?

Dell and IBM are going to drop some big announcements tomorrow. Too bad allot of you won’t hear it or see it, as it’s going to be in the Second Life virtual world. We already heard about Reuters setting up an office in there, and now, I’m actually glad I waited to talk about this as I saw the IBM article earlier, but it was
dismissed for a bit.
With Dell in there tomorrow, and IBM dropping like $100 million real money, all I can say is Technically Speaking – Dell - send Rex Dixon a computer that will run in Second Life – as you already know that Rex Dixon should be in there too. Sadly, this computer doesn’t have the needed horsepower nor the graphics card (yes I tried!).

News Corp is out acquiring once again. BubbleShare is the target, and once again – another photo site. Of course in 2007 it will be the video sites that are swallowed up in mass. Now, it’s another photo site.
Today there were rumors, or blog postings that the deal is nearly done. No official announcement, but keep your eyes open; Technically Speaking that is.

The funny thing about this article was that I was just talking to a German fan of the Coffee show awhile ago. He was saying how OpenBC (which will be called Xing very soon) was the place in Europe for social networking, or business social networking. I didn’t investigate much as it is primarily a European site. They made a little blog posting about it. Although 1.5 million users may not be 100 million, but if it’s working and business is being done – then 1.5 million business users beats 100 million friends you will never meet in person!
Technically Speaking, we all should keep a close eye on this one.

You know videos are the hot thing going when C-SPAN launches a user video site. I am not sure how long that URL will be good, as Marshall guessed it and it may be gone now. They are teaming with a company called StreamLoad and have announced it here. The new teamed service will be called ViewFinder.
Technically Speaking, if you have a video site, don’t expect Google type of money.

Farecast appears to be a good site, one that Scot Duke can probably use very soon in 2007 to book his seminar flights. Locking in fares will be a nice way to guarantee you don’t spend too much on the airlines.
Techically Speaking, a decent site that will probably go under; it seems all the useful ones do unless they get big money! What it comes down too? You have sites like diggnation on top.

Vista is already being distributed on the internet by the nice folks that are known as pirates. The sites and bit torrent already has the copies.
Pirates are already passing around the release that just went from Redmond central over to the distribution making place. That was just last week, and this week, you can get your copy on bit torrent or other pirate sites!
Technically Speaking, the crippling features should deter you from getting it this way, but you know how pirates are! Never stopped them with XP!

Officially tomorrow (11/14) I guess is the date, right? Do I really care? Has Microsoft contacted Rex Dixon and sent him an early release of Zune? Nope. Since I’m not getting one for FREE, I could care less.
I do know however other people are all excited at the prospect of paying Big Daddy over at Universal Music. How could you not be excited about not only getting a device that has been ripped in the press, but also paying unknowingly a fee to Universal Music?
Technically Speaking, I figure I would cut off the bull at the pass a day early!

Akamai Technologies a CDN (content delivery network) that has such high profile customers as Apple’s iTunes music store is currently contemplating the acquisition of San Diego based competitor Nine Systems. They are coming out with numbers in the $150 million range or 9 times the revunue.
Technically Speaking, Nine Systems must be making a nice move on the CDN market as Akamai has been around forever and seems to be the leader in that area.
