Wink (beta) new search features

wink logoWink - The company raised $6.2 million in funding from Cambrian Ventures, Greylock Partners and angels last year. They just released a new feature called People Search this weekend. Marshall think it’s a great feature, and he wrote about it here.

    I think it’s a great move as well. In general, managing all the social networks is a difficult, time-consuming, and relatively annoying task. It’s high-time more social network aggregators came into existence.

    I think, however, that a fatal flaw with the approach is that they are crawling only public pages, instead of getting in behind the login wall.

    We recently built Snag to do exactly this - meta-search, meta-messaging, and meta-updates.
