Web 2.0 Summit kicked off today in San Francisco. Here is a great run down of all the new companies. Technically Speaking it would have been more rocking if Rex Dixon would have been given an all access pass to the event along with first class airline tickets from St. Louis. We must not of course forget the first class hotel suite overlooking the city, as well as all meals and drinks paid for.

The dependence of Internet Explorer on other Windows components has allowed online attackers to work around the shored-up security of Microsoft’s latest browser.
Technically Speaking, that is one of the main things I do not like about Windows; how everything is dependent on each other.

That is a very large sum of money, and it raises questions about the company’s business model. Such a large round makes it more difficult for Zvents to return a profit to investors. This suggests Zvents is swinging for the fences — it will have to become all pervasive.
Technically Speaking, Rex Dixon see this as a VERY large sum of money, and again - people (namely the VC firms) really need to listen to a podcast that Scot Duke, the writer of - How To Play Business Golf, and Rex Dixon did a week or so ago. He and I had a nice discussion, and truthfully, it’s time to wake up and smell the COFFEE!
I know that some of you VC firms may think it’s a joke, but just ask some of the so called record company executives from the dot rock explosion. I can bet you each and everyone would wished they would have had perfect 20/20 hindsight vision back then!
Scot knows operations (30 plus years at SBC - ie — a REAL company) and should be hired to help oversee your money that you fund to new start ups as a COO.
