Smoke and Mirrors - Amazon

Posted by rexdixon on November 5, 2006

Amazon LogoHere is a great article about Amazon. Technically Speaking, I think it’s time to wake up and smell the Coffee. That is Coffee with Rex Dixon. I’m glad I actually stepped outside for a second, because I could have really written a scathing rip about this.

Vast.com

Posted by rexdixon on November 5, 2006

Vast LogoVast - now this is cool. It’s a site that has every bit of classified ad information you could ever want or need! Like a gigantic classifieds page. I actually found this as, the site’s COO Kevin Laws was writing an article on the whole Google YouTube thing. It’s a good article and perspective on the whole deal, but like most of the readers - we are all pretty sick about hearing about it. GoogTube.

The nice thing about Vast, is that encourage you to “steal this site“. The API is out there for you to create your own content on your web site. They are also looking for a programmer over in Belgrade, Serbia! No joke!

Technically Speaking, I encourage all the readers to give Vast a try. I have, and I even bookmarked under a category - meaning it’s a KEEPER!

Windows Vista?

Posted by rexdixon on November 5, 2006

According to Scobleizer - it appears his source says Windows VistaVista logo is now officially “done”. Sent off for mass distribution. Should be interesting to see Vista pop up here and there and everywhere; the official release of it. Again, Technically Speaking - Rex Dixon doesn’t have a computer good enough to run it, so I will probably be on Vista by maybe 3rd quarter 2007 when they are on SP3 or something.

Zamzar, DropSend 4 Sale, Weebly

Posted by rexdixon on November 5, 2006

Zamzar logoZamzar is a free online conversion tool. Personally speaking, I don’t see a market for this. I would rather convert my files on my own. I guess though, there are people who would rather not have a workstation based conversion tool. I did see the comment where it looks like that would be another application creation that would probably be good to write.

DropSend LogoDropSend is now for sale. This is kind of interesting in the fact that the latest Coffee with Rex Dixon goes into detail about the internet, venture capitalist’s, and where we are going with it all. Be careful is all I can say, just remember all the cool “hair bands” from the 80’s. If you don’t get the comparison - then you must listen to the latest Coffee with Rex Dixon #3.

Weebly is a web site creation tool. This isn’t a bad idea, Weebly Logobut can it compete or come out with something unique that will entice users to actually start using it in masses? That is the big question I have about it.

Technically Speaking, the 3 featured sites - all - need to listen to the latest Coffee with Rex Dixon! Coffee with Rex Dixon
