www.thecollegevoice.com – I will hopefully have more information later on for you, but I will talk about it a bit in the podcast this evening (yes, started to head to Evolution Studios; didn’t make it quite yet). Will Rex Dixon be in NYC? Stay tuned folks… Technically Speaking the headphones are warmed up, the tracking is about to commence!

Mozilla Add On List, Microsoft Coupon Clipping, Hackers, AND MORE hacking!
Posted by rexdixon on October 24, 2006
Here is a complete take on the Firefox (Mozilla) add-ons by Marshall over at TechCrunch.
Well isn’t this nice. Buy a new PC, and receive a “coupon” for Vista! I hate coupons. I hate rebates. Just give the thing a price, and instead of a freakin’ coupon – “Hey – Wake UP Microsoft — Ship the disc to the consumer after the person just shelled out megabucks for a nice shiny new computer – at YOUR cost!”
Looks like some hackers got on the inside of the stock world. I was wondering about that all time high DOW this week! Something says that numbers are inflated, and don’t want to talk statistics right now, but I feel a big LIE being exposed sooner then later.
Yes, I usually do not do this – but – listen to the podcast from today/this evening (10/24/2006) once I get my butt out of this chair and go produce it. I was just going to talk about the voting machines; it’s tech, it’s touching close to politics, but if you listen to tonight’s podcast, it might be just a little bit of more!
Technically Speaking, enough of this surfing break and off to Evolution Studios to do the podcast!

Edgeio secures $5 million
Posted by rexdixon on October 24, 2006
Edgeio a classifieds company that Mike is involved in just secured $5 million in series A funding. This was announced in their blog, and Mike can’t say anymore due to an obvious conflict of interest as he is still on the board of directors. He does provide some great links in his quick hit article.
Technically Speaking, that has you all caught up for NOW!

Idio, FOX and MySpace, Facebook beta testing
Posted by rexdixon on October 24, 2006
Idio is a flash magazine launching tomorrow. Marshall of TechCrunch thinks it will succeed and is a look into the future. It is Angel funded and based in the UK. There we go again — another foreign country innovating!
FOX-TV is putting it’s losing shows on MySpace exclusively. I guess my buddy up in Chicago – you know – Trashy Feelgood will now be able to see some loser shows on MySpace!
Facebook users ONLY at Berkeley and Stanford are given the opportunity to help them beta test a new feature called social bookmarking.
Technically Speaking – one more quick hit coming up!

T-Moblie WiFi Cell, Oracle and Web 2.0, Virtual Office
Posted by rexdixon on October 24, 2006
T-Mobile quietly launched their WiFi cell service yesterday in Seattle.
Oracle wants a piece of the action – Web 2.0 action that is! The software maker will announce Oracle WebCenter Suite, a new feather in its Fusion Middleware cap that uses Web 2.0 software services to help corporate employees better work together.
Web Worker Daily has a great article on Virtual Office utopia.

AOL-Paramount, P2P?, Fedora Core 6
Posted by rexdixon on October 24, 2006
AOL and Paramount cut a deal. As Mike states, it’s probably too little too late for AOL. He has a nice chart outlying the video deals done and who has what. Would Yahoo or Google please just suck up AOL like the bottom of a glass of chocolate milk?
Apparantly Liz of GigaOm is at a small conference gathering for P2P companies. P2P is still out there, but as Mr. Business Golf found out while we doing his new podcast called – Happy Hour with Mr. Business Golf, some network cards don’t support it! That is prejudicial to put in a piece of hardware.
Linux people rejoice. Well at least Red Hat Linux people are smiling as Fedora Core 6 is released. Many in that part of the industry think that it has some clues to the new Red Hat Enterprise that will be hitting the shelves soon.
Technically Speaking, good news day. I did however have a slight scare as I was looking for news today, thought there might be another Google news item; turns out it was just the same one I already talked about earlier!

Google Morning!
Posted by rexdixon on October 24, 2006
I guess someone at Google forgot proper release and announcement skills; left them at the entrance to the corporate empire that is known as well – Google. I blogged about it, and podcasted about it last night. Google has released so much stuff lately, you sort of wonder if it’s a mental brainwash onslaught done on purpose.
We now kick off the new day with our first post about Google. Technically Speaking both leading blogs that I gather my items from have it as their “top story” or “last/newest one“. Pick either link, and you can read all about Google’s Coop.
