Time and Time Tracking, Screen Door Open, Netvibes

Posted by rexdixon on October 4, 2006

Yes, all the above were talked about in the latest podcast now online – 7 Minutes with Rex Dixon – 10/4/2006. As promised here below are the links to some of the things I discussed in the 10/4/2006 podcast. I was obviously inspired to do my own investigation into the Time Tracking area due to this Web Worker Daily post.

SlimTimer – Great web based time tracker; using it right now to track my time!

ClockingIT - More then I need at the moment; kind of like MS Project.

Screen Door Open – Listen to the 10/4/2006 podcast to get the inside scoop on this

Screen Door Open (blog) - The blog associated with the Screen Door Open site.

Netvibes – Yeah, it rocks.. currently setting mine up, but using Google also — like the widgets just released.

Technically Speaking, that should wrap it up for today!

News At Seven — The actual site link!!!

Posted by rexdixon on October 4, 2006

News At Seven — you can actually check it out here. I do not have an answer as to why the link was NOT included in the article below, but there it is above.

Technically Speaking that wasn’t at the speed of light — but I had to do lunch!

Amie St. – beta launch!

Posted by rexdixon on October 4, 2006

Amie.st is announcing it’s beta launch today. Looks to have the backing of one of the guys from mp3.com as an angel investor. Read the article above from TechCrunch.

I believe this is a unique spin on music distribution. I mean, how many people want to hear songs I want to hear or collect? Technically Speaking some of the stuff I would like to have in my mp3 collection would be considered by most obscure!

News At Seven, Nokia E62, WR Time Tracker

Posted by rexdixon on October 4, 2006

News At Seven – Yes, I wish there was an actual link, but you can read the article. I’m sure a link will be up later today or just search for the site. Very interesting, maybe Rex Dixon will go the virtual route soon?

The Web Worker Daily people are giving the Nokia E62 thumbs up. Now too bad that my contract with Sprint is ending in about 24 days.

That means, CingularRex Dixon will be up for one of those Nokia E62 for FREE; you know for review purposes as well as to keep!

I’m ready to keep my number but switch carriers! Long story short, I’ve been a very very LOYAL customer to Sprint, but last week after being with them for over 8 years – with a paid in full ZERO balance bill — they would NOT complete my request to make a less then 30 second LD call to Germany. They instead tried to “sell me” some service I didn’t want or need!

Lastly, the clock is ticking and as my first line in my last post stated — the internet moves at the speed of light — well the tech / helpdesk / dude that wrote the WR Time Tracker – needs to get back to my issue ASAP.

Rex Dixon knows there are other time tracking services that will fill his needs, and Technically Speaking, I’m only waiting around 1 more hour give or take to get at the very least — a freakin’ response to my issue about their software!!!!

Slideshare, WR Time Tracker, GoogleTALK=Skype? and MORE!

Posted by rexdixon on October 4, 2006

I do not know how much I’ll be able to post today. It seems like the WordPress people are having a server load issue. This is all late obviously, but I notice that allot of readers are still catching up on some of my older posts. Remember this – the internet moves at the speed of lightkeep up!

First up was something I saw early this morning on TechCrunch. Looks like a company named Slideshare is launching today. For those of you that believe in putting out a PowerPoint presentation every turn you make in your business, this may be the site for you to check out!

Next up is something I’m trying out on one of the comments on this Web Worker Daily article. This is time tracking software or how to keep track of your billable time software; web based. Since I do my BlogCasting from everywhere, I need something web based. This looks like a great solution — but — the only issue so far is that everything is working except for some reason – my projects, etc.. that I set up are NOT showing up yet. I have e-mailed them feedback, so hopefully I will be able to start using this and seeing how it works.

Last up for now – GoogleTalk has a new URL I checked out today. It seems like they are going the route of Skype? Has anyone tried it? Is it like Skype?

There is a ton other things going on out there, and I highly encourage you readers to check them out – Since I don’t know when the server load here on the WordPress site will be today – here is a quick hit link list for you readers:

GigaOm – AOL Offers OpenRide – AOL is fading fast, they are now giving away stuff!

Gigaom – Nokia’s Bluetooth – Wibree - read about it there.

TechCrunch – Nuuvo – add this company to the dead pool; from last night.

TechCrunch – PageFlakes 2.0 – launching; from last night.

TechCrunch – Google Gadgets - Give it a try, some pretty cool stuff out there; from yesterday/last evening.

TechCrunch – FilmLoop 2.0 – it’s out/coming out; last night.

Technically Speaking that should keep you readers busy for awhile!
