Wallop – Pay Attention! MySpace “100 million” users — Debunked!

In last night’s 7 Minutes with Rex Dixon – 9/26/2006 show - I said some personal gripes out to Microsoft and their new social networking invite only site – Wallop.
I just read the below linked article a few moments ago. It basically seems pretty logical to me. Why am I saying for Wallop to pay attention? Because – don’t make the mistakes of your main competition in the social networking realm.
Myspace has 100 Million users? I think NOT, and that’s beyond Technically Speaking!

As far as MySpace and Tribe goes and their report of having some unreal number of members, there has to be some challenge to the fact that, from reviewing both sites, I don’t see those kind of numbers. Espically over on Tribe.
Since I gave up on MySpace and left it for the embryonic generation, I am willing to give Tribe another shot if they trued their membership numbers and purged all of the dead Tribes.
It seems simple to me that they would want to reformat the Tribe site back to resembling what it started out to be, a Global Community Network, and not pull back to being a SF Only Community. ,
A simple defragging of their database of abandon Tribes and member profiles, would allow them to market themselves as the NEW Tribe…and truly be NEW.
You think Rex Dixon can get that message to the Chief of the Tribe that there are a ton of Business People who would like to have a Tribe…if there were other Business People in Tribe?…I mean Technically Speaking that is..
